At Egeria, Mark is involved in the investment and divestment processes. He is a member of Egeria Do and of the investment committee.

Mark started in 1994 as an entrepreneur, developing VMS Group, a glass and disposables trading company and setting up Odyssee, one of the first website development and hosting companies in The Netherlands. In 1999, after selling VMS to one of its main competitors, he joined Gilde Equity Management in Utrecht as an associate where he developed his understanding of private equity. Mark studied Business Administration at Erasmus University of Rotterdam (RSM) and holds an MBA degree from ESADE Business School in Barcelona, including an exchange semester at NYU-Stern School of Business in New York.

Richard Branson once said: “When you believe in something, the force of your convictions will spark other people’s interest and motivate them to help you achieve your goals.”
Some people call me passionate, others determined like a pitbull. I see it as building great things together and never taking “not possible” for an answer. Working together as one team, understanding our joint weaknesses, making decisions that may also be based on a hunch, has shown me that we can overcome many challenges and create great things. At Egeria, but also in private life, seeing development is a fantastic feeling. Do not forget what you have created. At Egeria, we have developed Egeria Do in a similar way. With our donations and focus, we hope to see this development take root in society as a whole. That is what makes me proud!
