He joined the board of Egeria‘s former portfolio company JET in 2014, supported the buy-and-build strategy and was instrumental in the divestiture of Egeria‘s first German investment to Danish industrial buyer Velux. He is a board member of the Wentus portfolio company, a packaging enterprise based in Germany. Oliver has helped Egeria build its German business and also delivers support to the Munich-based investment team. He acts as an industrial adviser to Egeria with a special focus on German investments and weighs in with his hands-on operational experience on the board of medium-sized companies.
Oliver is the majority shareholder and executive chairman of Wachtel GmbH, an industrial manufacturer of premium bakery ovens with two production sites in Germany and one in Asia. He started his career at MeesPierson in Amsterdam and Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt and spent more than 15 years working as a partner in the private equity sector for Cinven, Allianz Capital Partners and AEA Investors NY. In this context, Oliver served as a member of the board of directors (and Chairman) of Dematic Logistics, Klöckner Pentaplast Packaging, BOA Industrials, Sdu/juris Publishing, and Euromedia. He holds a Master’s degree in business/finance from Stuttgart University, an MBA in general management from the Rotterdam School of Management and enrolled in the Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD, Paris. During his free time, he enjoys skiing, mountaineering and fly fishing.
