What is it like to work for Egeria? Four women share their experiences in these mini-interviews.

Lillian Bijloos – Managing Partner ERED
Investeringsmaatschappij egeria.
What attracted you to work for an investment company?

From a business perspective – being active in the real estate development industry – it gives me, and
my team, the opportunity to generate and create opportunities we might not have otherwise. And,
above all, it inspires and motivates me to work in an environment with people characterized by
seeing and creating future opportunities.

What are your experiences working at Egeria?

It’s a professional environment with many opportunities to develop and connect. Every day you work
closely with many professionals, and this opens doors in many ways.

What would you recommend other women that are interested in working in the Investment Industry?

Embrace diversity: as a woman, you bring a unique perspective and set of skills. Embrace your
diversity and use it to your advantage. And, to seek out opportunities to work with diverse teams and
collaborate with colleagues who have different backgrounds and experiences.

Willemien Storm – Human Capital Director

What attracted you to work for an investment company?

In my role I work for two Private Equity funds that consist of 20 portfolio companies. The variety in
businesses and growth strategies make my role diverse, action oriented and strategically interesting.
As Human Capital director I work with the management of portfolio companies in developing and
finding talent that helps them to execute the value creation strategy.

Why did you choose this job?

For Egeria Human Capital is key in delivering on the growth strategy. We take it very seriously. I have
a unique role in which I can harvest my HR background and apply it to various companies.

What is it like to work in the Investment Industry?

I love the teamwork at Egeria. Investment professionals work closely together on projects. It is fast
paced; efficient and young people are able to contribute straight from the start. If you want a steep
development curve than this is definitely a great place to work.

What would you recommend other women that are interested in working in the Investment Industry?

Ask an investment professional how their week looks and what their work is like. This way you’ll get a
good impression if this is something for you!

Liesbeth Snoeijer – M&A Legal Counsel
Investeringsmaatschappij egeria.
What attracted you to work for an investment company?

For me, as legal counsel for the PE teams, the thing which attracted me most is being able to be part
of an investment team and, as a result, to be involved in an acquisition or divestment at an early
stage. It also enables me, after completion of an acquisition, to remain involved and follow the
relevant portfolio company. This way I can better understand which identified potential risks during
the transaction are most relevant to focus on.

Why did you choose this job?

I find it a very dynamic and varied job. I make a to do list every day, but very rarely those are the
things I get done during the day. It is not a ‘nine to five’ job, but it gives a lot of flexibility as well.
Personally this fits me very well.

What would you recommend other women that are interested in working in the Investment Industry?

If you are interested to work in the investment industry, have a coffee or lunch with someone in in a
similar role to get some further insights. For me, the main consideration for choosing a job is quite
simple: I need to get energy from my job (almost) every day, continue to grow and learn and be able
to have fun. I think the perception of the investment industry for many women is that it is still very
much a man’s world, but for me personally that has never been a reason to not follow my own
ambitions. So, if you are interested in working in the investment industry, my recommendation
would be to not feel restricted in any way, be open about your ambitions and be convinced about
your profile as added value to the industry.

Julia Klinkert – Investment Manager Evergreen
Egeria, investeringsmaatschappij, financials
What attracted you to work for an investment company?

I was interested in working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment where you’ll get a lot of
responsibility and ownership. At Egeria I found all of this.

Why did you choose this job?

At Egeria, there are a lot of young and ambitious people that cooperate in small, informal teams
within a relatively large (for PE) and professional organization. The combination of small,
entrepreneurial teams with attention for the development of talent, a well-organized organizational
backbone, and a lot of peers, was what attracted me to Egeria.

What would you recommend other women that are interested in working in the Investment Industry?

Do your diligence: attend events, reach out to people who are working in the industry and/or if
you’re interested to learn more about their job, drink a cup of coffee with them. It really helps to get
a better understanding of the industry and from here strengthen your motivation!
