Oliver holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from the Wharton School. He began his career at General Electric, in the Manufacturing Management Program and on the Corporate Audit Staff, followed by two years with Bain & Company’s Private Equity Group. In 2000, Oliver joined the Audax Group, a private equity firm focused on the middle market, where he spent two decades helping to scale the organization and co-leading over 30 platform investments and numerous add-on acquisitions.

Oliver was also a Trustee of the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston from 2013–2024 and headed the finance and investment committees.

Having lived all over the world from Beirut, Seoul, Tokyo, San Francisco, Duesseldorf to Boston, he is comfortable in many cultures and places.
